Students of the Week

During the school year each grade level team selects students of the week. The students will be chosen on the basis of displaying character, leadership, scholarship, citizenship, and service.

Athletics

Reminder to athletes and parents: Student-athletes are subject to bi-weekly eligibility checks throughout the sport season.  Every two weeks each athlete’s grades will be checked.  Students receiving more than one F on these bi-weekly grade checks will be ineligible for two weeks.  Also, grades for a given quarter will determine eligibility for athletics for the following nine-week grading period.

Student Absences

The Ohio Revised Code states that all children between the ages of six (6) and eighteen (18) must attend sschool and that "it is the responsibility of the parent to ensure the student attends.

     Reporting Absences

  • The parent should phone the school within one (1) hour from the start of school (937) 746-3227 on the day of the absence.

  • Upon the child's return to school the parent shall provide written documentation stating the day(s) absent and the reason for such absence. Written documentation of absence(s) includes parent notes and physician notes as may be required by this attendance policy.

  • If within two (2) school days after returning to school following an absence, written documentation has not been received, the absence will be "unexcused."

  • Eight (8) absences from school per school year or five (5) tardies to school per school year for the reasons identified as "Excused Absences" may be documented by a parent note. Absences in excess of eight (8) per school year or tardies in excess of five (5) per school year may not be excused by a parent and shall require documentation by the child's physician, etc.

    Tardies

  • A tardy will be any time a student is signed in within the first hour and a half of a school day (90 minutes).

  • An early dismissal will be any time a student is signed out within the last hour and a half of a school day (90 minutes).

  • Morning half-day absences will be any time a student is signed in after the first 90 minutes of a school day or before the last 90 minutes.

  • Afternoon half-day absences will be any time a student is signed out before the last 90 minutes of a school day but after the first 90 minutes.

  • It should be noted that every five unexcused tardies to school would be counted as one unexcused absences of the purpose of determining if a student is a habitual or chronic truant as Ohio state law defines terms.

Dress Code Notes

  • Students may not wear cutoffs or clothing with frayed edges or holes above the knee.

  • Students may not wear clothing that has a bare midriff or a bare back, nor may they wear halter-tops , tank tops, or tops with spaghetti straps. Low cut tops are unacceptable.

  • Shorts and skirts are permitted if they are no more than three inches above the knee.

Thank you for your consideration and attention to this matter.
